The font I like most is about the 7th option down in their list, which is like a cursive script font but the letters don’t join up. It still looks really pretty though, especially the capital letters.

Use a different font sparingly. If you create your entire bio in one of the fonts above, it will become quite difficult to read. Choose what word/s you want to highlight, whether it be your name, a word or a quote.

Creating Your Instagram Bio

I always create my Instagram bio in the Notes app on my phone, as you can add spaces and paragraphs, which when copied and pasted into Instagram will stay in place. If you try adding new paragraphs or starting on a new line while typing out your bio directly in Instagram, it won’t work.

Depending on what type of Instagrammer you are, I think for bloggers it’s a good idea to have your location. That way, if a brand or PR lands on your page, they know which country you’re in and if you’ll be relevant to the brands they represent.

Add a few of your interests in there or what you do for work so people can see what your profile is about and what type of people you’re looking to connect with. Use emojis to split up the writing!

And lastly, make sure your fill in the URL field with the website you want your visitors to land on. You can add a link to:

  • Your blog
  • Another social media profile (eg. Twitter, Facebook)
  • The latest video on your Youtube Channel
  • Your online store or Etsy shop

Adding A Text Symbol

If you want to add something interesting to your name or bio and you’ve had enough of emojis, try a text symbol instead! Use this site to copy what you need and paste into your profile. I found the outline of a heart to place next to my name which I think looks really nice.

There are so many to choose from! Stars, hearts, music notes, arrows, even a crown! ♕

  3. hi there! i’ve been using that site as well to spruce up my captions & bio. however, a friend of mine from france showed me how it looks on their app & it just shows x’s instead of the letters. any idea why that might be? i was soulset to learn that! :’(

    1. Hi, it can be a number of reasons. Either they have a device that doesn’t show the characters (older phone?) or haven’t updated the app. If you go to your instagram URL on a computer and it shows the characters correctly, then it’s fine 🙂
