Vanessa Gollasch (“Blog Pixie“) operates blogpixie.com and may operate other websites. It is Blog Pixie’s policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our websites.

This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from Blog Pixie, contact me, or otherwise use my services through blogpixie.com.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control, including Paypal or any third party services you access through Blog Pixie.

Information I Collect

Like most website operators, Blog Pixie collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Blog Pixie’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Blog Pixie’s visitors use its website. From time to time, Blog Pixie may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

Blog Pixie also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on blogpixie.com blogs/sites. Blog Pixie only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below, except that commenter IP addresses and email addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog/site where the comment was left.

Certain visitors to Blog Pixie’s websites choose to interact with Blog Pixie in ways that require Blog Pixie to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Blog Pixie gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who sign up at blogpixie.com to provide a username and email address. Those who engage in transactions with Blog Pixie are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, Blog Pixie collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Blog Pixie. Blog Pixie does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

Blog Pixie may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. Blog Pixie may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Blog Pixie does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It

Blog Pixie discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Blog Pixie’s behalf or to provide services available at Blog Pixie’s websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using Blog Pixie’s websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. Blog Pixie will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. If you are a registered user of an Blog Pixie website and have supplied your email address, Blog Pixie may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with Blog Pixie and our products. Blog Pixie takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

Business transfers
If I sell or merge my business, I may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.

Data Retention

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 4 years.

Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU

I may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If I am deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, I rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Google Cloud is Privacy Shield certified.

Your Rights

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:

Access
You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.

Change, restrict, delete
You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.

Object
You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.

Complain
If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.

Cookies

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. Blog Pixie uses cookies to help Blog Pixie identify and track visitors, their usage of Blog Pixie website, and their website access preferences. Blog Pixie visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using Blog Pixie’s websites, with the drawback that certain features of Blog Pixie’s websites may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

Ads

Ads appearing on any of our websites may be delivered to users by advertising partners, who may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement to compile information about you or others who use your computer. This information allows ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This Privacy Policy covers the use of cookies by Blog Pixie and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

Although most changes are likely to be minor, Blog Pixie may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in Blog Pixie’s sole discretion. Blog Pixie encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy. If you have a blogpixie.com account, you might also receive an alert informing you of these changes. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
